I fell in love with the reds made from the schiava grape when I was in northeastern Italy’s gorgeous Alto Adige region last year. It was the perfect red to imbibe after a day spent hiking in the stunning Dolomite Mountains. So fresh and bright, with gushes of cranberry, cherry, spice, and minerals. Plus coming in at just 12.5% abv it never slows you down and when served with a slight chill goes perfectly with pizzas, pastas, and the deck outside our hotel room with the stunning mountain view. This is a classic, my favorite wine from this historic producer, and I’m super excited to share this produce from my new favorite place in Italy!
