Delicious Dogliani! 2021 PECCHENINO “San Luigi”

2021 PECCHENINO "San Luigi" Dogliani
$18.95 bottle/ $182.00 case

For those who want a bit of pasta and pizza perfect Italian influence as summer tomato season steams into high gear, this incredibly food friendly bottle is exactly the wine you want. I was having it last night with a too large bowl of penne with my homemade bolognese sauce and it was SO perfect, as evidenced by that empty bottle sitting on my counter this morning!😆 Plus, if you happen to take advantage of the rosé case above and want to add a bottle or several of this Piedmontese pleasure, you can take an extra 15% off that price listed below!!
2021 PECCHENINO Dogliani “San Luigi”
$18.95 bottle/ $182.00 case
This ‘21 San Luigi is darkly colored, layered, and intense, but doesn’t take itself too seriously at all. A ridiculously drinkable 100% dolcetto from one of the top producers of this fabulously food friendly grape. The 2021 is hitting on all cylinders right now and has years of delicious life ahead of it. If you want to taste just how good the dolcetto grape can get then this benchmark from Pecchenino is your wine! Plus, with summer’s ripe and juicy tomatoes just around the corner, this is exactly what you want in your glass!!
>> 92 pts- Vinous:The 2021 San Luigi is bright and alluring right out of the gate. Bright acids perk up a core of red/purplish fruit, lavender, and rose petal. The purity of the fruit is remarkable. This is a fabulous showing from San Luigi and the 2021 is an absolute delight.”
>> 93 pts- Wine Spectator: “Bright cherry, kirsch, raspberry and floral aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this rich, vibrant and harmonious Dolcetto, which has plenty of structure, building to a long, complex aftertaste of fruit and mineral. Drink now through 2028.”
~ ~ Value Added: The last time I had this on the shelf it was running $22.95 a bottle and was totally worth that ask. I just found out the importer is running a temporary discount, so this is even sweeter at four dollars off!!
